Welcome to The Red Lion Penderyn
Perched on a hill above Penderyn, with panoramic views across the village and towards Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, The Red Lion Inn is a historic 12th-century drover’s inn full of character. Flagstone floors, cosy log fires and traditional real ales and ciders gravity-fed from the cask create a warm, distinctive atmosphere.
The kitchen team creates a modern, regularly changing menu showcasing seasonal Welsh produce. Sundays feature traditional roast lunches alongside an à la carte menu, with a choice of starters and desserts.
The Red Lion Inn offers a choice of dining spaces, from the traditional pub bar to a dedicated restaurant area. In warmer weather, guests can enjoy outdoor seating with scenic views. As space is limited, booking is recommended. Indoor tables can be booked online for up to six people; larger groups and guests seeking bar or outdoor seating should contact the inn directly.
Children under six are welcome until 6pm, while children aged six and over are welcome for lunch and dinner when accompanied by an adult. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the bar and lounge, but not in the restaurant. Close to Penderyn Distillery and routes into the National Park, the inn combines history, hospitality and Welsh countryside views.
