Welcome to Penpont

Penpont is a family-run estate on the River Usk near Brecon, in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. It brings together self-catering accommodation, riverside camping, walled gardens and a farm shop in a working landscape shaped by farming and nature conservation.

The 17th-century Courtyard Wing has six bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen and dining room, and its own entrance through an enclosed courtyard. Staying guests can explore the terraces, lawns, wildflower meadows, Greenman maze and woodland. Contact the team to confirm the arrangements for your group and discuss bringing a dog before booking.

The Rose Garden and riverside campsite has an informal layout, with hot showers and toilets a short walk away, drinking water and communal fire pits. It is mainly for tents, with limited space for small campervans by arrangement; there are no electric hook-ups or chemical toilet disposal facilities.

The walled gardens grow organic vegetables, fruit, herbs and cut flowers, with seasonal produce available through the on-site farm shop. Cwmsefin, the estate’s regenerative farm, contributes to the wider work on sustainable food production. Launched in 2019 with Action for Conservation, the Penpont Project brings young people, farmers and the local community together to restore habitats and biodiversity.

Penpont also hosts weddings, retreats and workshops in its Stables and gardens, and has a riverside wood-fired sauna bookable separately. Use the listings below to explore the different stays and venue options, and check directly for current availability and visiting arrangements.
