Welcome to Glyntawe Outdoor Centre

Glyntawe Outdoor Centre brings together group accommodation, self-catering facilities and outdoor experiences at Pen y Cae in the Swansea Valley, on the southern side of Bannau Brycheiniog. It offers a shared base for families, friends and organised groups who want time together as well as opportunities to explore the surrounding countryside.

The centre sleeps up to 35, with a choice of bunk rooms, smaller rooms and en-suite options. A lounge and dining room give the group space to gather after a day outdoors, while the commercial kitchen allows you to plan and prepare your own meals. The dining room seats 40, and Wi-Fi is available. Discuss your group’s size and preferred room arrangements with the team before booking.

You can self-cater or ask about catered options, including breakfast, half board and full board. Outside, there are seating areas, firepits and wood-fired griddles. A secure drying room can be arranged for an additional charge, providing useful space for wet clothing and outdoor equipment after a day exploring the area.

Glyntawe also offers activity programmes tailored to different groups. The separate activities profile introduces options such as gorge walking, local walks, mountain biking, bushcraft, climbing and caving. Discuss suitability, arrangements and current availability with the centre rather than assuming activities are included in an accommodation booking.
