Camping at Fforest Fields puts you on a family-run 500-acre farm near Hundred House and Builth Wells, in the Radnorshire hills north of Bannau Brycheiniog. The site welcomes tents, campervans, motorhomes and touring caravans, with woodland tracks and open countryside to explore without driving away from your pitch. It is part of the wider Fforest Fields family, alongside lakeside yurts and self-catering accommodation.
There are grass, all-purpose and hardstanding pitches, with electric and non-electric options. Some look across the valley; others sit beside streams and hedgerows. Different pitches suit different vehicles and lengths of stay, so choosing the right surface is part of planning your visit. The campsite facilities include free hot showers and underfloor heating, while an honesty shop stocks everyday essentials. A seasonal coffee shop and bar provide another place to spend time together.
Walking routes lead through the farm’s woodland and fields and onto Aberedw Hill. The spring-fed Long Lake offers swimming subject to the farm’s safety guidance and conditions, and the paths give you opportunities to watch birds and notice changes in the landscape through the seasons. You can make a day of exploring the farm before returning to cook at your pitch.
Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells are the nearby towns for supplies and exploring. For a longer outing, the Elan Valley, Hay-on-Wye and Bannau Brycheiniog offer different directions for a day out. Back at Fforest Fields, the farm setting remains central to the stay, whether you are stopping for a weekend under canvas or travelling through Mid Wales with a caravan.
