Stay together beside the canal near Brecon

Ty Newydd Holidays combines an 18th-century farmhouse bed and breakfast with four self-catering cottages, all set around a traditional courtyard four miles south of Brecon. With direct access to the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, it is a practical base for walking, cycling, days on the water and exploring Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.

The farmhouse B&B has four large en-suite rooms: three king rooms and one twin. Guests can enjoy a locally sourced breakfast before heading out for the day.

The four converted self-catering properties range from a studio for two to cottages sleeping up to six. Captain’s Lookout, Marina View, Dragonfly Cottage and Bullrush Barn each offer their own layout, giving couples, families and groups a choice of space.

Three of the cottages welcome dogs. WiFi, on-site parking, secure bike storage and an electric-vehicle charging point are available, and guests can also make use of a kayak on the canal.

Rachel and Sid welcome guests throughout the year. Ty Newydd sits between Llanfrynach and Pencelli, with village pubs, local shops and routes into the surrounding hills within easy reach.
