Welcome to Porth y Parc, Ty Gwyn

A six-person holiday house near Abergavenny

Ty Gwyn sleeps six in three bedrooms at Porth-y-Parc, an organically run smallholding on the slopes of Sugar Loaf near Abergavenny, in Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. The white house stands near the entrance to the farmyard, with south-facing rooms and views down the valley towards the town. It is one of two holiday cottages on the holding.

Two bedrooms are on the ground floor: a twin room and the Garden Bedroom with a king-size bed. They share a wetroom with a walk-in shower. Upstairs, the South Bedroom has a king-size bed and its own bathroom with a freestanding bath. There is a further WC in the entrance porch. Ask the owners about access, thresholds and the layout if you have particular requirements.

The kitchen has a cooker, large fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A wood-burning stove warms the living room, while an air-source heat pump supplies the underfloor heating. Wi-Fi, books and games are provided, along with cotton bed linen and towels. The porch has space for outdoor gear.

The enclosed, south-facing back garden has a lawn, patio and shrubs, with a barbecue provided. There is also a front garden and parking for two cars. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement; check with the owners before booking. Bikes may be brought, but there is no secure bike storage and cycling is not permitted on the footpath through Porth-y-Parc.

Walking routes leave from the door, and Abergavenny’s shops, pubs and restaurants are a short drive away. Check Ty Gwyn’s own availability calendar, then contact Pip and Roz by phone, email or the owner’s enquiry form to confirm dates and arrange your stay.
