Welcome to Dark Sky Collection

Dark Sky Collection brings together self-catering cottages, farmhouses, lodges and shepherd’s huts around Crai in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. Run by a fourth-generation farming family, the collection offers stays for couples, families and larger groups, with countryside walks and dark skies close by.

Accommodation ranges from The Mallard Shepherd’s Hut for two to Onnen Fawr Farmhouse for eight and Oak Barn for up to twelve. Properties have their own layouts and facilities, with options including wood-burning stoves, hot tubs, gardens and EV charging. Check the individual listing for bedroom arrangements, dog policies and the facilities included in your stay.

The team can help arrange family gatherings, celebrations and corporate retreats across its Crai Valley sites. Ask about catering, guided farm visits, stargazing, walking and other local activities. Cascave Gin tastings can also be booked as part of a stay; contact the team for the current arrangements.

This is a working-farm setting, with farming and care for the landscape part of daily life. Property-specific accessibility statements are available from Heidi on request, helping you choose accommodation that suits your needs. Check availability online or contact the family for advice before booking.
