Welcome to Good Day Out – Mini Donkey Walks and Agility Games

Spend quiet time with Maverick and Goose, Good Day Out’s pair of Miniature Mediterranean donkeys, in a valley near Sennybridge in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. Choose a small-group walk and picnic or an agility session in their field, with private bookings available.

The Mini Donkey Walk and Picnic lasts around two hours. Start by grooming the donkeys and getting to know them, then follow farmland paths with a light picnic along the way. The pace is unhurried, with foraging stops for the donkeys, but the route can be muddy and uneven and includes some slopes. Routes are adapted to the weather and walkers.

Mini Donkey Agility Games lasts around an hour and explores handling and animal behaviour through play. After grooming and an introduction to the donkeys’ welfare, the trainer shows how body language, target training and positive reinforcement help you communicate with them. The session changes with the donkeys’ progress, the group and the weather.

Most visitors are adults. For walks, the owner recommends children aged ten or over in private sessions, with at least one adult per child; children must not lead a donkey alone. Quiet children can attend agility games with a participating adult, with private sessions recommended for younger children. Discuss the best option and any access or mobility needs before booking.

Advance booking is essential and meeting-point directions are sent afterwards. Wear suitable footwear and follow the owner’s clothing guidance. Dogs cannot join the activities, and there is no shaded parking for leaving dogs in hot weather. Check the current donkey calendar for dates, prices and session details; gift vouchers are also available. The pigs and sheepdogs are at other locations, so check the meeting point for each experience.
