Garden Cottage is a detached one-bedroom cottage for two beside the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal in the heart of Talybont-on-Usk, within Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.

Its location is what gives this little cottage so much appeal. Step outside and the canal is just metres away, while the village store and café and two pubs are all within an easy walk. It means you can arrive, settle in and spend a few days exploring without every outing beginning with a drive.

Inside, the cottage is designed for two, with a spacious en-suite bedroom that can be arranged with a super king-size or twin beds, a fully equipped kitchen and a cosy living space with a log burner. Outside, there is an enclosed patio and front garden, and dogs are welcome.

The canal opens up easy, largely level walking straight from the village, while cyclists can make use of the local bike-cleaning hub before heading further into the surrounding countryside. You can also follow more of the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal on foot and discover waterside pubs, wildlife and changing views across the National Park.

Talybont-on-Usk itself is a strong base for exploring this part of Bannau Brycheiniog, with access to the canal, reservoir country, hill walks and the wider Usk Valley all close by.

For couples or solo travellers who want a small, comfortable base where village life, canal-side wandering and the Welsh countryside all begin at the front door, Garden Cottage is particularly well placed.
