Ride the Valleys at BikePark Wales
BikePark Wales is a purpose-built mountain bike park at Mynydd Gethin near Merthyr Tydfil, within reach of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. Its network includes beginner trails as well as more demanding technical routes and jump lines for experienced riders.
Kermit is a five-kilometre beginner downhill trail. For riders who can already handle a bike but are new to mountain biking, the guided Ticket to Ride experience includes bike and protective-equipment hire and vehicle uplifts. The minimum age for that experience is 10; riders aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a guardian on the trails. Check the requirements for your chosen session before booking.
An uplift pass provides vehicle transport for you and your bike to the top of the trails. Pedal access passes are also available for riders using their own pedal power or a suitable e-bike. Choose the pass or experience that fits your plans and check availability in advance.
On site there is a café, a bike shop and workshop, a bike wash and parking. Bike and protective-equipment hire, skills coaching and group experiences are available to book. The site is cashless, so bring a card or contactless payment method.
Before visiting, check the current trail status, riding grades, equipment requirements and registration instructions on the website. Follow the directions on BikePark Wales’ Find Us page rather than relying on the postcode alone. Contact the team about access or additional support needs when planning your day.
