Gablebach is one of two distinctive cottages at Black Mountain Escapes, set near Llangadog beneath Y Mynydd Du (the Black Mountain) and within easy reach of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.
Carefully restored to retain its period character, this one-bedroom cottage for two blends original beams, antique and vintage furnishings with thoughtful modern comforts. The cosy living room centres around a traditional log burner and Chesterfield sofa, while the handcrafted kitchen combines an Aga with the practical touches needed for an easy self-catering stay.
Upstairs, the bedroom continues the cottage’s individual style, with an antique French bed and elegant furnishings, while the freestanding slipper bath adds a little extra indulgence after a day outdoors.
Outside, the garden and patio look across the surrounding countryside towards the Tywi Valley, making it a lovely spot for a quiet morning coffee or an evening beneath the dark skies. The outdoor tub offers another reason to slow the pace and simply enjoy the setting.
The location works equally well for peaceful days at the cottage or getting out into the landscape. Y Mynydd Du is close by for walking and exploring, while Llangadog, the Tywi Valley and the western side of Bannau Brycheiniog are all within easy reach.
