Double, king and twin options are available; ask ahead about a cot or an extra child’s bed in suitable rooms. Step outside and Abergavenny’s independent shops, market, castle, cafés and food businesses are all within easy walking distance, making The Angel particularly well placed for visitors who want to explore without continually getting back in the car.

Food has long been central to The Angel’s identity. The Oak Room serves seasonal dishes in elegant surroundings, while the Foxhunter Bar offers a more relaxed place for drinks and food. The hotel is also widely known for its High Tea, with freshly baked scones, cakes and savouries prepared as part of an experience that has become one of its signatures.

A stay here also works well for visitors who want town and countryside in equal measure. The Sugar Loaf, Blorenge, Skirrid and Black Mountains are all within easy reach, while Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) opens out beyond Abergavenny for walking, cycling and longer days outdoors.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. Rear parking is first come, first served, with some spaces and EV charging available to reserve through reception. There are no ground-floor bedrooms; a lift serves the first and second floors, and an entrance ramp can be arranged. Discuss individual access needs before booking. Dogs are welcome in the Foxhunter Bar and courtyard, but not in hotel bedrooms.
