Tegfan Garden Suite
Tegfan Garden Suite
Tegfan Garden Suite is a self-contained, self-catering studio in Talgarth, facing Mynydd Troed in the Black Mountains of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. Built in 1901 as a greenhouse, it now suits a couple, three adults or a young family of four, using a king-size bed and sofa bed. All facilities are on the ground floor; ask Helen about any particular access requirements before booking.
The studio has a fitted kitchen with a dishwasher, dining and sitting areas, and an en-suite shower room. Wi-Fi, a TV, Xbox, DVDs and games offer options for a quiet evening indoors. Outside, there is garden seating, a fire pit and views towards the mountains. Solar panels help reduce the suite’s use of grid electricity.
A Welsh welcome hamper includes local bread, eggs, fridge essentials and Black Mountains Preserves made by your host, Helen. Tell her about allergies or dietary requirements in advance. Cheese and charcuterie platters or picnic lunches can be arranged ahead of your stay. Helen and John Dunne host the suite, and Helen’s National Park ambassador knowledge can help you plan walks, local food stops and days out.
There are walks from the door and Pwll-y-Wrach Nature Reserve nearby. Bronllys Castle, Talgarth and the towns of Brecon, Hay-on-Wye and Crickhowell offer further places to explore. Pets are not accepted. Check the owner’s availability calendar, then phone or email Helen to confirm your booking and sleeping arrangements.

Once again, thanks very much to Helen, John & Grace for a great place to stay. It is possible we won’t eat for a week after a fantastic series of generous breakfast…”
