Y Castell – Stay, Eat and Drink
Y Castell – Stay, Eat and Drink
On Queen’s Square in Llangadog, Y Castell brings together a village inn, a restaurant and six individually designed bedrooms. The restored 18th-century coaching inn is a place to pause over a meal or drink, or to stay while exploring the Tywi Valley and the western side of Bannau Brycheiniog.
The bar and restaurant give day visitors their own reason to call in. Menus draw on locally sourced ingredients, with traditional favourites alongside more contemporary dishes. Indoor dining areas combine the character of the older building with modern furnishings, and there is also an alfresco option. A meal here can fit around a day in the valley, an evening with friends or a family gathering.
For an overnight visit, the bedrooms offer a choice of double and twin arrangements. The family suite sleeps four, with a double or twin arrangement and two adult-sized bunk beds. Each room has its own design, so the staying page is the place to compare the accommodation before following the room-booking route.
Staying and dining are connected, but they are separate choices: you can visit the restaurant or bar without booking a room. The two pages below explain each offer in more detail and keep the relevant reservation routes together. Current menus, service times and room availability are available through Y Castell’s own website.
Llangadog makes a useful starting point for discovering this part of Carmarthenshire, from the Tywi Valley’s villages to days out towards the Black Mountain. Y Castell offers a base within the village, with food, drink and accommodation under one roof.
