Welcome to Drover Cycles, Hay on Wye

Drover Cycles in Hay-on-Wye offers bike hire, a cycle shop and a workshop for exploring the Wye Valley, the Black Mountains and Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. The team can help you choose a bike and a route for the riding you have in mind.

Bike Hire for Every Rider

The hire fleet includes mountain bikes, road, gravel and touring bikes, hybrids, electric bikes and children’s bikes, with trailers and seats also available. Hire includes a helmet, pump, repair kit and lock. Check bike sizes and availability before booking; the operator’s minimum age for electric bikes is 14.

Delivery and Collection

Collect your bike from the Hay-on-Wye shop or ask about delivery to your accommodation or the start of your ride. Delivery charges, booking notice and minimum-hire requirements apply, so confirm arrangements with the team before making plans.

Repairs and Servicing

The workshop handles repairs, servicing and bike builds. Book non-urgent work in advance and ask about turnaround times. The team also tries to help with minor emergency repairs, subject to availability.

Local Advice and Refreshments

Ask the team for local route advice before setting off. If you are planning a café stop at the shop, check with Drover Cycles first: its café webpage currently carries a closure notice.

Hay-on-Wye is on the Wales–England border, with lanes through the Wye Valley and routes towards the Black Mountains. Choose a ride that suits your experience and fitness, and ask about the terrain and conditions rather than assuming every route is suitable for every bike.
