Welcome to Carreg Cennen Castle Café and Tea Rooms

Carreg Cennen Castle’s family-run tea rooms are at the foot of the castle near Trapp and Llandeilo, on the western edge of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons). Stop for lunch, tea or cake before or after exploring the area; you do not need a castle admission ticket to visit the tea rooms.

The menu includes homemade cawl, served with bread, butter and cheese, and Welsh rarebit with mustard and leek. Cottage pie and roast beef salad use Longhorn beef from the farm.

Lighter choices include jacket potatoes, sandwiches, toasties and a Ploughman’s with Pant Mawr cheese. Homemade cakes include bara brith and scones; the daily selection varies. The published menu includes vegetarian dishes and some gluten-free cakes, so ask the team about your dietary requirements.

The farmyard, car park, tea rooms and gift shop are free to enter; admission charges apply to the castle grounds. There are marked circular walks through the surrounding farmland, which can be muddy and slippery in wet weather.

Disabled parking is available in the farmyard, and staff can arrange alternative access to the tea room if needed. Dogs must be kept on leads around the site; the operator states that only guide dogs are allowed inside the tea rooms and gift shop. Check current opening hours before travelling.
