Welcome to The Honey Café

The Honey Café is a family-run café in Bronllys near Talgarth, with a garden terrace overlooking the Black Mountains. It was established in 1933 by Glynwen, the current owners’ grandmother, in a former malt house and brewery. In the 1960s its cellar became the Honey Cavern live music nightclub.

Today the menu brings together breakfasts, traditional meals, Tex-Mex dishes, burgers, snacks and wraps, with plant-based and gluten-avoiding options. Homemade cakes and desserts include Welsh cakes, bara brith and other changing favourites. Ask the team about ingredients and particular dietary requirements before ordering.

The café uses local suppliers for meat, bread and milk, alongside seasonal produce from its garden when available. Meals, cakes and drinks are available to take away, and its own honey is sold seasonally. The team is also happy to refill water bottles.

There is a large car park in front, access ramps, an accessible toilet and baby-changing facilities. Dogs on leads are welcome outside and in the main restaurant; a separate section remains dog-free. The terrace offers outdoor seating with countryside views.

Telephone the café for indoor table bookings, takeaway orders or general enquiries. On busy bank-holiday weekends, many tables are kept for walk-in visitors.
