Y Castell’s bar and restaurant occupy a restored 18th-century coaching inn on Queen’s Square in Llangadog. Come for a meal, a drink or both: the dining rooms and bar offer different ways to spend time here, whether you are staying in one of the inn’s six bedrooms or visiting the village for the day.

The kitchen brings together pub favourites, lighter choices and more contemporary dishes, using fresh ingredients from the Tywi Valley and surrounding area. Sunday roast, children’s choices, puddings and a set menu are among the options, with the selection changing over time. There are places to sit indoors and the possibility of eating outside when conditions allow. The choice makes Y Castell useful for a family meal, a relaxed lunch or dinner after a day exploring this part of Carmarthenshire.

The bar serves Welsh spirits, locally produced beers and ciders, wine and soft drinks. The drinks range also includes apple juice made with fruit from the nearby Dynevor House orchard. You can call in for a drink without making a meal of it, or start an evening in the bar before moving through to the dining room. Llangadog is a village in the Tywi Valley, with routes towards the Black Mountain and the western Bannau Brycheiniog. Y Castell gives visitors a place to eat and drink in the village after walking or exploring the surrounding area. Those staying upstairs have the restaurant and bar close at hand, while day visitors can use them as a reason to pause in Llangadog.
