Farm Cottages near Talybont-on-Usk

Coity Bach is a working smallholding near Talybont-on-Usk in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. Its dog- and family-friendly self-catering stays include Peacock Cottage, sleeping up to eight, and Ty Fferm Hen, sleeping up to six. With walking and cycling routes from the farm, it is a practical base for exploring the canal, reservoirs and hills.

Peacock Cottage has three bedrooms: a double, a twin that can also be arranged as a double, and an upper sleeping area with twin beds and a double futon. Headroom is reduced upstairs. The open-plan living, dining and kitchen space leads to an enclosed patio with outdoor seating, a barbecue/fire pit and a hot tub. There is parking for three cars.

Ty Fferm Hen is the farm’s original historic farmhouse. One large open-plan bedroom contains a double and two singles, with a double sofa bed in the living area bringing the total to six. An old stone spiral staircase leads upstairs. Downstairs are a kitchen and living/dining area with a wood burner; outside are a patio and parking for two cars, with the hot tub in the stone barn beside the cottage.

Both cottages have Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels, and welcome pets. Locked cycle storage and cycle- and boot-washing facilities are available. Ask the owners about breakfast hampers, farm produce and farm experiences, and confirm any arrangements before arrival. The farm also has lodges, glamping and camping options, each with different facilities.

Talybont-on-Usk is about half a mile away, with the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal, local shops and places to eat. The Taff Trail, Talybont Reservoir and nearby waterfalls offer further days out.
