Welcome to Friends of the Brecon Beacons / Cyfeillion Bannau Brycheiniog

Friends of the Brecon Beacons is the working name of the Brecon Beacons Park Society, a voluntary charitable organisation that helps protect and conserve the National Park for public benefit.

The Society runs guided walks throughout the year, led by experienced volunteers and open to members and non-members. Routes cover different parts of Bannau Brycheiniog and vary in length and difficulty, so walkers should read the guidance and choose a suitable walk before booking online. Members join walks without charge; non-members are asked for a donation.

The Society also holds public talks, usually at the Bear Hotel in Crickhowell. Its wider work includes monitoring rights of way, responding to significant planning applications, supporting the International Dark Sky Reserve and researching historic tramroads. Use its website to find current walks, events, practical guidance and ways to get involved.
