Welcome to Fforest Fields

Near Hundred House and Builth Wells, Fforest Fields brings camping, glamping and self-catering together on a family-run 500-acre farm in Radnorshire. This is Mid Wales countryside north of Bannau Brycheiniog, with woodland tracks, open fields and the moorland of Aberedw Hill to explore directly from your accommodation. It suits a stay that combines time on the farm with days out in the wider region.

The three accommodation routes offer different ways to enjoy the same setting. Bring a tent, caravan or motorhome to the camping and touring site, choose a furnished lakeside yurt, or opt for the cottage or lodge for a self-catering break. The individual profiles below explain each option, helping you choose the space and facilities that fit your visit without losing sight of the shared farm experience.

Two lakes are part of the landscape, with swimming in the spring-fed Long Lake subject to the farm’s safety guidance and conditions. Walking trails lead through woodland and onto the hill, while the changing views across the Edw Valley give you reasons to stop along the way. The honesty shop stocks everyday essentials and some local produce; a seasonal coffee shop and bar provide another place to pause.

Fforest Fields has welcomed campers since the early 1990s, and the family continues to manage both the visitor accommodation and the working landscape. Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells are the nearby towns for supplies and exploring. Further afield, a stay can include the Elan Valley, Hay-on-Wye or a day in Bannau Brycheiniog, returning to the farm’s paths and lakes at the end of the outing.
