Welcome to Theatr Brycheiniog
Theatr Brycheiniog stands at Brecon’s canal basin, a short walk from the town centre. Its programme gives visitors a reason to spend an afternoon or evening in town: theatre, live music, comedy, dance, film and community performances share the stage. Touring work sits alongside local participation, so the building is both a place to see a show and a working space for the area’s arts community.
The main auditorium has seating over three levels, while the studio is used for smaller events, rehearsals, workshops and classes. The theatre’s Andrew Lamont Gallery adds exhibitions and other events to the programme. That range means two visits can feel quite different: a concert in the auditorium, a comedy evening in the gallery or an activity in the studio. The current listings are the best guide to what is on during your stay.
A visit can also begin before the performance. Theatr B! Café serves breakfast and lunch beside the canal, with evening food on show nights and for special events. The bar opens ahead of performances. From the theatre, it is easy to walk along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal or back into Brecon’s streets, shops and other cultural places.
The venue has a charged car park and a bicycle shelter outside. Tickets are available through the theatre’s own booking service or Box Office, and its visitor information covers current opening arrangements and accessibility. Whether you are building a visit around a particular performance or looking for something to do while in Brecon, Theatr Brycheiniog connects the town’s canal-side setting with its live cultural programme.
