Welcome to Horse Riding at Llangorse Multi Activity Centre

Pony trekking, riding and hacking

Explore the countryside around Llangorse on horseback, with routes overlooking Llangorse Lake, the Black Mountains and Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons).

The riding centre uses more than 25 miles of private bridleways on its own land and the surrounding hillsides, without needing to ride along public roads. Guided options range from first pony rides to longer hacks for experienced riders.

Tell the team about your riding experience when booking so they can help you choose a suitable ride and horse. Riding boots and hard hats are provided; wear comfortable long trousers and clothing suited to the weather.

New to horse riding?

Beginner treks include instruction before setting out and guidance along the way. One-hour rides are offered for ages seven and over, with two-hour rides for ages nine and over. Confirm the requirements for your chosen session with the centre.

Some past experience?

Intermediate rides include walking, trotting and steady canters, with guidance to help returning riders build confidence. Discuss your experience with the team before choosing this option.

Experienced rider?

Half-day and full-day hacks follow off-road routes and may include cantering and galloping. These are for competent riders; the centre lists a minimum age of twelve for hacks and nine for intermediate rides.

Children’s riding

Younger children can try a led pony ride from age four. The centre also offers beginner trekking, riding lessons and riding activities for older children; check the current programme for dates and suitability.

Schools and groups

Group riding can be tailored to participants’ ages and abilities. Discuss any access or additional support needs before booking. The wider centre also offers other activities, a café and accommodation for longer visits.

Visit the centre’s horse-riding pages for the current options, then call 01874 658272 or enquire online to arrange your ride.
