Welcome to Staying at Y Castell

Y Castell has six individually designed bedrooms in a restored 18th-century coaching inn on Queen’s Square in Llangadog. Staying here puts the village, the Tywi Valley and the western side of Bannau Brycheiniog within easy reach. The rooms pair features of the older building with contemporary furnishings, giving visitors a base that feels connected to the inn rather than a separate accommodation block.

There is a choice of double rooms and rooms that can be arranged as a double or twin. The family suite sleeps four, with a double or twin bed arrangement and two adult-sized bunk beds. One of the double rooms has both a bath and a shower. This range gives couples, friends and a family different ways to stay, whether they are passing through for a short break or spending more time in the area.

Food and drink are part of the stay. Y Castell’s restaurant serves dishes built around local ingredients, while the bar is a place to meet over a drink after a day out. Guests can choose to spend an evening at the inn without having to drive elsewhere for dinner, or explore other places in and around Llangadog. Menus and service arrangements may change, so the inn’s current information is the best guide for a particular visit.

Llangadog sits in the Tywi Valley, with routes towards the Black Mountain and the wider western Bannau Brycheiniog. A stay at Y Castell works for visitors planning walks and days outdoors as well as those using the village as a base to discover Carmarthenshire.
