Welcome to Camping at Penpont
Simple, peaceful and close to nature
Camping at Penpont is how it should be – relaxed, informal and close to nature. Set within the Old Rose Garden on this historic family-run estate in the heart of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, the site offers an unspoilt, back-to-basics experience among mature trees and open spaces.
There are no marked pitches here – just a scattering of small, private spots beneath the trees, with a shared central lawn for campfires and gatherings. Riverside pitches overlook the River Usk, where lucky campers might glimpse otters, kingfishers or dippers.
The site welcomes up to 35 guests, keeping things quiet and sustainable. Mostly for tents, there is limited space for small campervans (no electrical hook-ups). Hot showers, toilets and a washing-up area are located in the Stable Block nearby.
Guests can pick up organic fruit, vegetables and Penpont honey from the Farm Shop, swim or fish in the River Usk (fly only, catch and release), or unwind in the wood-fired sauna on the riverbank. In summer, the Punch & Judy Bar opens for sundowners, and evening feasts and music bring the garden to life.
With campfires under the stars, the scent of charcoal and the sounds of the river, Penpont Camping captures the simple pleasure of sleeping close to nature in one of Wales’s most beautiful landscapes.
