Welcome to Trans Wales Horseback Trails Bed and Breakfast
Welcome to Blaenau: The Heart of Trans Wales Trails
Step into history and comfort at Blaenau, our 16th-century Traditional Welsh Longhouse, where all of our horse-riding holidays begin and end. Nestled next to a stream, this beautifully restored stone house has been home to generations over its nearly 400-year history and now offers a warm and welcoming retreat for our riding holiday guests.
Blaenau features a charming guest annexe with four en-suite rooms that can be set up as twins or super-king doubles. Renovated from old barns, the rooms blend traditional character with modern comfort, earning a 4-star rating from Visit Wales. Enjoy fluffy pillows, Welsh blankets, 100% cotton linen, and cosy warmth from our wood biomass heating system.
The garden room, overlooking the stream, hosts hearty breakfasts and delicious dinners. Known for outstanding food, we serve meals made with locally and ethically sourced ingredients, including our own pork, lamb, and fresh eggs. Vegetarians, vegans, and special diets are happily catered to, with everything from sourdough bread baked daily to plant-based feasts. Guests can bring their own drinks to enjoy alongside meals.
Evenings are peaceful at Blaenau, with time to unwind by the wood-burner, take a stroll to a nearby pub, or relax with a film or book. The farm’s surroundings also offer beautiful walks and nearby waterfalls to explore.
Blaenau is more than a starting point—it’s a place to create lasting memories and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
