Adventure Experiences at Argoed Lwyd – Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park

Set beneath the slopes of Pen y Fan, Argoed Lwyd is a well-established base for outdoor adventure experiences in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. With over 25 years’ experience, their qualified instructors deliver safe, engaging activities for individuals, groups, schools and families — whether you’re completely new to adventure sports or ready for a challenge.

A wide range of guided activities is available, including caving through hidden underground chambers, rock climbing and abseiling on natural crags, peaceful canoeing, and immersive gorge walking through dramatic Welsh landscapes. Guided mountain walks offer the chance to explore the area with local insight, while combination days — such as caving with waterfalls or climbing paired with gorge walking — provide a full day of adventure.

No prior experience is needed. All specialist equipment is provided, including helmets, harnesses, waterproofs and walking boots, allowing you to focus on enjoying the experience.

For those wanting to extend their stay, Argoed Lwyd also offers on-site bunkhouse accommodation in a cosy 19th-century farmhouse. Group-friendly and relaxed, it’s an ideal place to unwind after a day outdoors.

With expert guidance, spectacular scenery and a wide choice of activities, Argoed Lwyd offers a memorable way to experience the wilder side of the National Park.
