Cantref Riding Centre – Explore the Brecon Beacons on Horseback

Nestled in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park, Cantref Riding Centre has been
welcoming riders of all ages and abilities for over 40 years. Whether you’re a complete
beginner or an experienced rider, from age 4 and upwards, we offer a range of rides and
lessons to suit you.

Choose from a gentle 20-minute introductory lesson, a relaxing one-hour ride around
the farm, or an unforgettable half-day or full-day trek into the breathtaking Brecon
Beacons scenery. We are proud to be the only licensed riding centre allowed to take
rides onto the main peaks of the Brecon Beacons, making your experience truly
unique. Our experienced guides ensure every rider feels safe, comfortable, and well
cared for from start to finish, making your riding experience enjoyable and stress-free.
Before setting off, all riders are provided with a riding hat and a safety briefing, then
introduced to their horse or pony. We pride ourselves on our knowledge, experience,
and friendly atmosphere – which is why so many riders return year after year.
Cantref Riding Centre welcomes families and groups to come and experience the
unique thrill of riding in the Brecon Beacons. We are fully licensed and approved by
major equine organisations, local councils, W.T.R.A., and A.A.L.A.

• Maximum weight limit is 16 stone (101.6 kg)

Own a Pony for the Day – The Perfect Gift!

Looking for a memorable gift for birthdays or Christmas? Our Pony Day experience is
ideal for children aged 6 and over.
The day includes:
• Learning how to groom your pony
• Tack up your pony
• Understanding pony, saddle & bridle points
• Identifying pony colours & markings
• A riding lesson followed by a ride out
• A delicious hot lunch
• A certificate, rosette, and photo with you and your pony to take home!
