Welcome to The Old Sunday School Room, Trecastle
Characterful Retreat near Trecastle
Tucked away just over two miles from Trecastle, this beautifully converted Victorian Sunday school offers a peaceful and dog-friendly base for exploring the western reaches of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. With space for up to six guests, it’s a welcoming escape for families, couples or small groups looking to immerse themselves in countryside life.
Blending period charm with thoughtful touches, the upstairs living space makes the most of the location, with panoramic views of the surrounding hills. A cosy woodburner and comfortable seating add warmth and atmosphere, while the fully equipped kitchen and dining area are ideal for relaxed meals after a day’s adventure.
There are two bedrooms – one double with a futon, and one twin – and two bathrooms, one on each floor. The enclosed courtyard with a BBQ provides a safe space for children and dogs to enjoy the outdoors. Guests also have access to games, books, Freeview TV and WiFi.
Set in a quiet rural spot, you’re well placed for walking, biking and wildlife watching at nearby Usk Reservoir or for exploring market towns like Brecon and Llandovery. The Old Sunday School is full of character – a great base for discovering the quieter side of the National Park.
