For a relaxing day out in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, Beacon Park Day Boats offers a choice of self-drive electric boats, cycle boats, canoes and paddleboards to help you explore the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal in your own time.

The fleet includes 6- and 8-seater electric boats, complete with rain covers for comfort whatever the weather. For something a little different, the two-person cycle boat offers a gentle workout with views, while the ex-Thames and ex-steam boats bring a touch of vintage charm to the water.

Larger groups might opt for the all-electric cabin cruiser – seating up to eight adults and two children – which features a steering wheel, hand throttle, toilet, cooker and heating for a more luxurious cruising experience.

All vessels are simple to operate and come with a full safety briefing, life jackets and equipment. With this stretch of the canal being lock-free, it’s ideal for beginners and families looking to enjoy a calm and uninterrupted journey.

Set off from Llangattock between 9am and 4pm and enjoy wildlife spotting, peaceful scenery and a taste of slow living. Advance booking is recommended during busy periods.
