Welcome to The Red Lion Penderyn
Perched on a hill with panoramic views of Penderyn village and Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, The Red Lion Inn is a historic 12th-century drover’s inn bursting with character. With flagstone floors and cosy log fires, it offers a warm, inviting atmosphere. Traditional real ales and ciders are gravity-fed straight from the cask, giving guests an authentic taste of the region.
Head Chef Adam Penfold and Senior Sous Chef Leon Jones craft a modern, ever-changing menu showcasing seasonal Welsh produce. Sundays feature a traditional roast lunch or a fresh fish option, accompanied by a selection of starters and desserts.
The Red Lion Inn provides a choice of dining experiences, from a traditional pub bar to a dedicated restaurant area. During warmer months, guests can enjoy outdoor seating with scenic views. Due to limited space, reservations are recommended. Indoor tables can be booked online for up to six people, while larger groups, bar, or outdoor seating require direct contact with the inn.
Children over six are welcome (under six until 6 pm). Well-behaved dogs are allowed in the bar and lounge but not in the restaurant. Located near attractions like Penderyn Distillery, The Red Lion Inn perfectly combines history, hospitality, and stunning Welsh countryside views for an unforgettable visit
