Situated in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, Cantref Riding Centre has been welcoming riders of all ages and abilities for over 40 years. Whether you’re looking for a short introductory session or an unforgettable full-day ride into the hills, Cantref offers a friendly, well-organised experience in one of the most scenic riding locations in Wales.

Riders aged 4 and above can enjoy anything from a 20-minute lesson or a gentle ride around the farm, to half- and full-day treks taking in spectacular mountain views. All rides are led by experienced guides who make sure every guest feels safe, supported and confident – whether it’s your first time in the saddle or you’re an experienced rider.

Before setting off, riders receive a safety briefing and are fitted with a riding hat. All horses and ponies are carefully matched to suit individual abilities and confidence levels.

Cantref is licensed and approved by key equine bodies including W.T.R.A and A.A.L.A., and is a popular destination for families, couples and groups.

Pony Days at Cantref
A fantastic hands-on experience for children aged 6 and over – Own a Pony for the Day includes learning to groom, tack up, and identify pony colours and markings, as well as a riding lesson, a ride out, and a few keepsakes to take home.
