Penderyn Distillery

Penderyn Distillery, the pioneer of Welsh whisky, has been crafting award-winning single malts since its establishment in the early 2000s.

With three distilleries across Wales—in the Brecon Beacons, Llandudno, and Swansea Copperworks—Penderyn offers visitors an immersive experience into the art of whisky making.

Distillery Tours. Each distillery provides guided tours where guests can explore the milling, mashing, fermentation, and distillation processes.

Visitors witness the unique single copper-pot Penderyn stills in action and conclude their tour with a tasting session, sampling some of Penderyn’s finest products. Tours are available seven days a week, with seasonal variations in scheduling. Masterclasses

For a more in-depth experience, Penderyn offers Masterclasses at all three distilleries.

These interactive sessions delve deeper into whisky production, including the importance of wood and maturation. Participants engage in blind nosing activities and learn the protocols of whisky tasting. Masterclasses are typically held on weekends and require advance booking.

Visitor Information.

• Brecon Beacons Distillery: Located in the village of Penderyn, this distillery is nestled in the southern foothills of the Brecon Beacons National Park, approximately 40 minutes from Cardiff and 30 minutes from Swansea.
• Llandudno Lloyd St Distillery: Situated on the North Wales coast, this distillery opened in May 2021 and has been fully restored, retaining many original features.
• Swansea Copperworks Distillery: Opened in June 2023, this distillery is located in the historic Copperworks area of Swansea, bringing copper back to the site once again.
